Post supports Boca Raton candidates who understand capital projects

You’d almost think that development was on the Boca Raton ballot. In one sense, it is. The One Boca downtown redevelopment referendum has become the overriding issue in this March 10 election.

Seat B: Marc Wigder

For Seat B on Boca Raton City Council: Elect Marc Wigder Council member Marc Wigder faces two challengers in his campaign for re-election. The Post recommends voters re-elect him to another term. Wigder has built upon a solid foundation of community service in his first three years on the dais, and he has gained the experience that should serve city residents well.

A business attorney and head of a realty firm that focuses on sustainable real estate development, the 54-year-old Wigder would continue to focus on public safety improvements and infrastructure improvements, like new sea walls and updated flood control measure in the city’s downtown to reflect the needs of a changing climate.

Wigder’s opponents are Meredith Madsen, a 51-year-old-businesswoman, making her first bid for the council, and John Pearlman, a primary opponent of the One Boca project. Pearlman didn’t participate in the Post endorsement process.
